April 1998 - October 1999. Instrument acquisition and modification.
Completion of studies based on 1992 data, including remote sensing of
cloud particle size and modeling of equivalent spheres, and publication
of work completed under the present grant on spectral longwave
climatology and statistics of ice crystal sizes.
November 1999 - February 2000. Summer field experiment.
March - November 2000. Analysis of summer field experiment, development
of data-processing algorithms for the full-year experiment, modification
of instrumentation as necessary, continuation of modeling work.
December 2000 - November 2001. Full-year experiment at South Pole.
Data analysis and modeling at the University of Washington and the
University of Wisconsin.
December 2001 - June 2005. Analyses of full-year experiment. See
