Transitions
In most cases, a transition represents the passage of the system from a source object to a destination object. There are transitions between states. There are also transitions between junctions and states. A transition is represented by a line segment ending with an arrow drawn from a source object to the destination object. This is an example of a transition from a source state, On
, to a destination state, Off
.
Junctions divide a transition into segments. Each segment is evaluated in the process of determining the validity of the transition from a source to a destination. This is an example of a transition with segments.
A default transition is one special type of transition that has no source object.
